Burgundy and Brown Wedding Bouquet
3 Mar
Every once in a while I get the opportunity to do something new. This bouquet was one of those times! Jennifer wanted an elegant bouquet in shades of burgundy, brown, and ivory, but she had no idea what flowers she could use. I had never created a burgundy and brown bouquet before, so I was excited to work with her. We started with one of my favorite roses, the Black Bacarra. This brought some nice dark burgundy red tones to the bouquet, as did the throats on these gorgeous coffee brown cymbidium orchids (aren’t they to die for?!) A more traditional burgundy color came from carnations. Ivory roses and pearls added just the right touch of ivory to Jennifer’s bouquet. Mini hydrangea, Green Tea roses, and seeded eucalyptus brought in gorgeous shades of green. Really, though… the star of this bouquet is the brown cymbidium orchids. They were the perfect shade of coffee brown. It was the subtle burgundy and ivory colors that occur naturally in the orchid’s throat that made this flower absolutely perfect for Jennifer.
Jennifer’s bridesmaid’s carried a simple hand-tied bouquet in shades of white and green, featuring hydrangea, carnations, a few roses, mini hydrangea, and seeded eucalyptus. Simple and elegant!

This bouquet makes me so happy… It may very well be my favorite bouquet of the year! Bethany is a spunky redhead who got married in her friend’s backyard. She wanted something natural and cheerful, featuring her favorite flower, daisies. Her bridal bouquet featured dahlias, daisies, sunflowers viking poms, zinneas, amaranthus, greenery, ferns, and even wildflowers from my back yard, all in bright shades of orange, green, and yellow. Her maid of honor carried a bouquet in the same color scheme, without the white daisies. Little monticasino flowers (they look like mini daisies) added a fun touch of whimsy to the bridesmaid’s bouquet. It looks like these bouquets came straight from the garden, doesn’t it?

Vanessa wanted a romantic bridal bouquet in shades of ivory and cornflower blue. Her light and airy bouquet features cymbidium orchids, roses, hydrangeas, grape hyacinths, and little hyacinth blooms. Her bridesmaids carried posies of hydrangeas, spray roses, carnations, pom flowers, and grape hyacinths.

Orchids, especially cymbidium orchids, bring a very elegant touch to a bridal bouquet. This bouquet is simply to die for – even if I do say so myself!
